In fifty years, what do you think will be the most popular “classic collectible”?
Looking at most of the new cars I tend to think of them as what Bill used to call ‘Jellybeans’. Too bland, not enough interest. Nothing to differentiate it from other cars.
So far, I think the new 2022 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray LT and the 2017-2022 Ford GT will be collectible contenders. They have angles, they make a striking appearance. Not like many of the cars that are smooth and look like jelly beans. Maybe the 2022 Volvo EV or the 2022 Volvo Concept XC Coupe, 2022 Buick Wildcat EV. How many others can you suggest?
Maybe the late 1980s would come into their own collectible era. How about the 1988 Cadillac Coupe DeVille or convertible? 1988 Tiffany Classic? 1988 Avanti Coupe? A sedan, i.e., the Cadillac Caprice or a Chrysler LeBaron, 1988 Toyota Cressida, Nissan Maxima?
How about your latest everyday driver?
